What Does OCM Wine Offer?
OCM Wine offers public grants covering up to 50% of eligible expenses, allowing you to realize your projects in the wine sector.
Who It Is Aimed At
The calls for proposals from the Wine Sector Development Program are intended for wine companies. Bottlers or simple wine merchants are excluded.
To participate in the calls for proposals, it is necessary to primarily produce wine with grapes of one's own production or purchased from third parties. This does not mean that the company cannot carry out commercial activities, but the bottled wines will not be able to benefit from the advantages offered by the Wine Sector Development Program for third countries.
Companies can participate individually, in temporary association with other producers, or by joining projects promoted by wine associations.
What It Allows to Do
The call for proposals from the Wine Sector Development Program for third countries allows for financing, through non-repayable grants ranging from 50% to 80% depending on the regions, all costs incurred to promote one's products outside the European Union.
Among the most significant expenses are:
- travel and participation expenses for trade fairs;
- expenses for hosting potential buyers or journalists at wineries (incoming);
- expenses for online marketing activities;
- the staff dedicated to export (up to 4% of the costs);

- expenses for the wine used in tastings at restaurants, shopping centers, etc.;
- advertising expenses.
In summary, the call for proposals from the Wine Sector Development Program represents a comprehensive measure that covers all the necessary expenses to support the export of one's product, with a maximum spending limit per company equivalent to 20% of the previous year's turnover or of the Temporary Business Association (ATI).
What and how much does it finance?
The Wine Sector Development Program finances all the expenses related to promotion and advertising incurred in a specific third country (non-EU country).
In detail:
Promotion and advertising aimed at highlighting the advantages of quality products, food safety, and environmental sustainability.
- Foreign trade missions.
- Participation in events, trade fairs, and international exhibitions.
- Information and promotion campaigns at retail outlets, large distribution, and restaurants in the third countries
- Other communication tools such as websites, brochures, guided tastings, meetings with operators, and journalists from the countries involved.
Cosa Fare
The funding consists of a non-repayable grant of 50%, which can be supplemented by the respective region up to 30%, for a total contribution of 80%.
It is necessary to draft a project for each third country (e.g., United States, China, etc.), specifying in detail the actions to be carried out (such as participation in the Shanghai fair, organizing a series of events in restaurants, private tastings, and inviting journalists and importers to visit the winery).
The project can have a duration of one to three years, with the possibility of making non-substantial changes only after approval.
